Kate Steer

I started my dog walking and pet sitting business in 2019 around the lovely village of Yealmpton, in South Devon. I used to be accompanied by my beloved dog, Max (pictured above), who sadly passed away in April 2025.

Relocated back to the South Devon area after a few years in East Devon.

I've grown up with dogs in and around the family home. From a young age was fortunate to have ponies, competing in pony club events, mounted games and one-day-eventing.

At 18 I travelled to Australia, returned to the UK worked on a children's activity centre, headed off to University graduating with honours, worked in schools, for charities and then found dog walking.

I like to get out into the countryside (hence Rural Paws) for off lead walking where possible.
